1. Our business and policy aims

www.oryxes.co.uk and www.oryxexecutivesearch.com are websites of Oryx Executive Search Limited.

We are a leading executive search firm, dedicated to acquiring senior management talent on behalf of clients. Our service is involved in both the identification and evaluation of such individuals, in addition to advising clients on viability of such recruitment projects.

Our offices are based in London and Bristol in the UK and our work covers both domestic and international appointments.

We respect the privacy of all users of our websites and e-mail and are committed to the protection of all personal data and information according to current legal frameworks.  Oryx Executive Search Limited is solely responsible for the processing of all personal information.

Our policy sets out why and how we collect and process personal information from our websites and e-mail.

Personal Information” is defined as any information that enables the identification of a given individual, either directly or indirectly.  Examples of Personal Information include:

  • Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number.
  • Professional education, experience and skills.

 

“Sensitive Personal Information” is defined as Personal Information containing:

  • Racial or ethnic origin.
  • Political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs.
  • Trade union membership.
  • Genetic data.
  • Data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation.

Processing” is defined by work undertaken by our staff to collect, record, store and distribute such information.

2.   Personal Information – declaration of consent

As per “our business”, Oryx are involved in the identification and evaluation of suitable candidates on behalf of our clients for senior positions within their organisation.

If you are a potential client, we may hold your contact details on our database in order to discuss the suitability of our services. This is stored and processed as per “3 – the processing of personal information”.

If you are interested in becoming a Candidate, you can provide us, on a voluntary basis, with information on your personal and professional background “Candidate Information”.  This is used for the assessment of suitability for the current recruitment projects we are conducting.  “Sensitive Personal Information” has no relevance to the hiring processes and we recommend that it should not be included in any shared information.

The candidate information may be used to contact you in order to clarify your professional experiences and career aspirations and may be aided by complementary information from your publically available social media services e.g. Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. provided that information is relevant to the assessment of your suitability for a role.  It may also be used in the following circumstances:

  • To contact you about subsequent opportunities that may be of interest.
  • After placement with a client to check the suitability of the appointment.
  • As part of the client team after placement, to provide industry knowledge when Oryx is working on future appointments for that client.
  • As part of our marketing efforts, to explore opportunities to work with the successful candidate in their newly appointed role. 

 

3. The processing of Personal Information

All Candidate and Client Information is processed in house by Oryx Executive Search and stored on our dedicated propriety database. The server, where the data resides, is kept on site in our Bristol office and administered by Oryx.  Data backups are stored remotely at our London office and are not shared or stored with any third parties or cloud-based services.

Personal Information stored may include:

  • Contact details.
  • Biographical/residence information.
  • Education and qualifications.
  • Employment and remuneration history.
  • Professional history obtained from publically available social media sites.
  • Assessment and suitability for Oryx assignments.
  • Any Sensitive Personal Information you may choose to disclose.

 

At our discretion, some of this (candidate) information may be shared with clients to ascertain suitability for their current senior roles.  We will not introduce your details to any clients of Oryx without first obtaining your permission.

Your Candidate Information will not be linked to other components of the Site for purposes other than providing clients with executive search services.  Your Candidate Data will be processed until you revoke your declaration of consent given when sharing Candidate Data with us through the Site.  Upon the revocation of your declaration of consent, we will delete your Candidate Data from all databases.

Client information is not shared with third parties and is used exclusively to promote our services by phone or e-mail, unless a client elects to become a candidate.

Please be aware that, on occasion, some of these clients might be located outside the EEA (European Economic Area) and, therefore, may not have the same level of protection of personal data.

By declaring consent, your own Candidate Information, or parts thereof, may be disclosed to clients in countries that may provide different protection of personal data than those inside the EEA.

By sharing your Candidate/Client Information with us through this website or e-mails, you explicitly consent to the Processing of your Candidate Information, including any Sensitive Personal Information you might choose to disclose to us, as described above.

You may revoke your declaration of consent at any time by contacting p.baron@oryxes.co.uk.
