The University of the West of England (also known as UWE Bristol) is the largest provider of higher education in the South West of England. It has over 30,000 students and more than 3,000 staff across various campuses in Bristol.
In 2022 Oryx were asked to help UWE Bristol recruit a new Chief People Officer. This was regarded as the most important, strategic piece of recruitment for some time and one that UWE could not afford to get wrong. After a comprehensive search of the education sector as well as private and other public sector environments the new CPO started work in early 2023.
